This Privacy Policy explains how MMS Driving School collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you contact us, book driving lessons, or leave a review. Who We Are

MMS Driving School is a Coventry-based driving school and sole trader, founded in 2025 and run by owner and principal instructor Muniba Sahily. As a service-area business, we teach across Coventry, Bedworth, Nuneaton, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Warwick, and Kenilworth.

For the purposes of data protection law, MMS Driving School is the “data controller” responsible for your personal data.

Data Protection Officer: As a small business, we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under UK GDPR. Muniba Sahily is responsible for data protection matters.

What Personal Data We Collect

We only collect the personal data we need to respond to you and to provide driving lessons. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

Contact and booking forms: when you use our contact or online booking form (provided by Gravity Forms), we collect your name, email address, phone number, lesson preferences, pick-up area, and — for learners under 18 — parental or guardian consent details.
Payment information: when you pay for lessons, your card payment is processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details; we may receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction information such as the amount and date.
Reviews and feedback: any information you choose to share when you leave a Google review or give us feedback about your lessons.

We do not collect more information than we need, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data unless it is necessary and you have provided it to us.

Why We Collect It and Our Lawful Basis

Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:

Contract: to arrange, deliver, and manage the driving lessons you book with us.
Legitimate interests: to respond to enquiries, run our driving school efficiently, keep records, and improve our service — balanced against your rights and freedoms.
Consent: where you have actively agreed, for example when submitting an enquiry through our contact form, opting in to non-essential cookies, or choosing to leave a review. You can withdraw consent at any time.

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

respond to your enquiries and answer questions about lessons;
arrange, confirm, and manage bookings and lesson schedules;
contact you about your lessons, including changes or reminders;
keep accurate business and booking records;
handle complaints and safeguarding matters; and
improve the quality and safety of our driving instruction.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary. In practice: booking, payment and accounting records are kept for at least 6 years, as required by UK tax law (HMRC); enquiry or contact-form data where no lessons are booked is kept for up to 12 months and then deleted; and safeguarding records are handled as set out in our Safeguarding Policy. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

We do not sell or trade your personal data. We may share limited data with trusted service providers who help us run our website and business:

Website hosting & security: our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes technical data required to deliver and secure the site.
Booking & contact forms: our forms are provided by Gravity Forms, which processes the details you submit through them.
Payments: card payments are processed by Stripe, which handles your payment data under its own privacy terms. We do not store your full card details.
Website analytics: if we use analytics to understand how visitors use the site, the provider and its cookies are described in our Cookie Policy.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, for example to comply with a court order or to protect the safety of a learner. Any provider that processes data on our behalf is required to keep it secure and use it only for the agreed purpose.

Your Data Protection Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
Erasure — ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances;
Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data;
Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
Portability — request that your data be transferred to you or another provider in a structured, machine-readable format.

You will not usually have to pay to exercise these rights, and we aim to respond within one calendar month.
